Scotty McCreery, of American Idol fame, has earned his first #1 song with “Five More Minutes”. The song was co-written with Monty Criswell and Frank Rogers (who produced it as well). This first single from his upcoming fourth studio album, Seasons Change, was released in May 2017 and the album is due to be released March 16, 2018.
The song was written just two weeks after the death of Scotty’s grandfather, and was inspired by that event. After Scotty performed the song at the Grand Old Opry, the audience responded with a standing ovation. In addition to being his first song to hit #1, Scotty has said it is his favorite song he’s ever written.
